WELCOME to the World of M*CH*M*RE & MITCHELMORE DNA Project
This one-name study was founded by the late Bob Muchamore (1934-2004), but is now maintained by Mike Michelmore. The site contains a wealth of information on the M*CH*M*RE families who came from the edge of Dartmoor in Devon and also across the River Tamar into Cornwall. There appear to be seven surname variants surviving in modern usage: MICHELMORE, MITCHAMORE, MITCHELMORE, MOUCHEMORE, MUCHAMORE, MUCHEMORE and MUCHMORE. The DNA Project is in it's infancy but welcomes more participants.
MOGG Family
David MOGG is researching his ancestors from Stoke Damerel (1750-1850) with earlier links to Pyworthy and Bridgerule in Devon and also Shepton Montague and Bruton in Somerset, back to 1516. The C16th demography of the surname suggest that distribution was centred around Bridgerule and Pyworthy in Devon, Bruton and Farrington Gurney in Somerset, Lydlynch in Dorset and Feckenham in orcestershire.
